'People' are the heart of every story I pursue. And a powerful story can in turn, change lives.
I began my career in broadcast journalism with Channel NewsAsia in Singapore before joining Al Jazeera Media Network in 2011. Based out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the next seven years, I travelled extensively to the most challenging environments in the Asia-Pacific region, creating award-winning documentaries for the programme 101 East.
From the frontlines of disaster zones such as Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and Nepal’s devastating earthquake, to the largest Rohingya exodus in 2017, my stories seek to give a voice to those most affected by natural or man-made calamities. I have also investigated child labour in factories supplying to international shoe labels, clergy sexual abuse in the Philippines and the global brands responsible for Indonesia’s deadly forest fires.
Aside from producing documentaries, I am equally passionate about mentoring and collaborating with the next generation of fearless women, especially female Asian journalists. I have shared my experience in various speaking engagements including aboard Peace Boat, a global organisation advocating peace-building and sustainability development.
Now I am back in Singapore doing what I continue to love - producing impactful stories to inspire action.
